Polo at the Bluff
At Make-A-Wish the health and safety of our community, including wish families, corporate partners, volunteers and employees, is our priority. In an abundance of caution and for the health and well-being of our community, Polo at the Bluff has been rescheduled to September 27, 2020. This was a challenging decision made as concerns about the coronavirus grow, and local public health officials urge people not to attend large, public events. Purchased tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Lucht at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The inaugural event of Polo at the Bluff is still set to be a spectacular day celebrating the strength and joy wishes create for kids in our local community. We hope you will plan to join us September 27, 2020 and continue to help transform lives. Your support is more critical than ever as we work to create life-changing wishes for more local children.
With amazing support from our sponsors and community partners participating in this inaugural event, every dollar raised for Make-A-Wish will go directly toward granting life-changing wishes for local children battling critical illnesses.
The impeccably designed VIP tent provides an intimate and exclusive experience for guests of Polo at the Bluff, featuring complimentary hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages generously provided by Palmetto Bluff.
Sponsors and VIP guests will have ringside seating to view the fast-paced arena polo exhibition, which will also mark the FIRST time this type of polo is played in our area. We are honored to have players and ponies from Polo Adventures participate in the event, led by Tiger Kneece. Kneece, who recently retired from a high goal international polo career, manages the Aiken Polo Club. The Aiken Polo Club has been in operation since 1882 and hosts a number of tournaments in the Spring as players return north after the winter season in Wellington and in the Fall as players return south from the season in Greenwich and The Hamptons.
This event is perfect for first-time polo viewers. Join veteran polo announcer, Bob Bullock, as he introduces arena polo to the Bluff. Mr. Bullock, known as the "Voice of Saratoga Polo", has been the announcer at the Saratoga Polo Association in Saratoga, NY for more than three decades, as well as the Greenwich Polo Club in Greenwich, CT and the Bridgehampton Polo Club in the Hamptons. He has announced charity matches throughout New York and New England. Mr. Bullock also serves as the chief operating officer for Make-A-Wish Northeastern New York, located in Albany, NY.
This family friendly event also features activities for those who are at the heart of our mission "children." Our Wish Zone will be dedicated to wish families and feature children's activities throughout the event, including photos with a pony. There will also be a silent auction at the event, featuring a number of unique experiences and vacations!
